Carousel Capital Acquires Axium Healthcare Pharmacy, Inc.

Leading Independent Provider of Specialty Pharmacy Services

December 13, 2006 – Charlotte, North Carolina – Carousel Capital announced today the acquisition of Axium Healthcare Pharmacy, Inc., a leading independent, nationwide provider of specialty pharmacy services.  Headquartered in Lake Mary, Florida, Axium Healthcare Pharmacy provides comprehensive disease-management programs, as well as injectable and oral pharmaceutical treatments to meet the needs of patients with rare or chronic conditions.  The company has established itself as a leader in managing patients on complex, high cost therapies such as those for Hepatitis C, Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Growth Hormone Deficiency and Multiple Sclerosis.  Axium’s experienced patient care team of doctors of pharmacy, registered nurses, reimbursement specialists and dedicated patient care coordinators provide treatment protocols, patient education and ongoing clinical assessments and support throughout the course of patient treatment.  In addition, Axium Tracker, the company’s proprietary data management system, captures, tracks and reports clinical data for referring physicians, health plans, manufacturers and other health care providers. As a result of delivering one-stop pharmacy solutions for managing complex therapies, Axium achieves improved outcomes.

Carousel is partnering with Axium’s senior management team, led by CEO Mark Montgomery, in acquiring the company from a group of individual investors.

Carousel Capital funded the transaction with equity from its third investment fund, Carousel Capital Partners III.  Allied Capital Corporation provided the financing for the transaction.
